Cabo Cocina

This past Saturday my family and I decided to try out Cabo Cocina on Riverside Drive in Dublin. We had driven by the restaurant many times as it has changed ownership several times over the years. I had read reviews for the restaurant online before that were mixed-- some people loved it and some people said it was awful. Since my family and I lived in Texas for about 10 years we are always looking to find a good Mexican restaurant and sadly, Columbus seems to be lacking the that department. I always take negative reviews from around here with a grain of salt since the local restaurant that always wins the "Best Mexican" award is far from authentic and covered with cheese and sauces-- not quite what I'm used to. After previewing the menu online we decided to give it a try and were very happy with the results. The restaurant has a great view of the Scioto River and a pleasant atmosphere. We started off with a pitcher of the "a littler better" margaritas which were great! We were told by our waiter that the margs were homemade and contained no mixers which was perfect! We also enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa. They bring you their regular house salsa but also invite you to take part in their salsa bar which had a selection of six additional salsas to try-- all made in-house. Then came time to order our entrees. We asked our waiter what the best dishes were and he suggested we either order off the taco or burrito menu. We took his advice and each of us got a different kind of tacos (you can choose flour or white corn tortillas and it comes with 3 tacos). My mom got the Picadillo Beef Tacos, my dad got the Grilled Fish tacos (featuring Mahi Mahi) and I got the Crispy Fish Tacos (batter fried Tilapia). We decided to share so we could try all 3 and none disappointed! All in all we really enjoyed our experience at Cabo Cocina and will definitely be back again! They let us know they have Taco Tuesday specials so maybe we'll have to try it next time- but if you're a fan of AUTHENTIC Mexican food, this place will not disappoint!

Welcome!

Welcome! I have decided to start a blog about my foodie adventures. I love exploring new restaurants (and re-visiting my favorites) and I thought I'd start keeping a record of my experiences to share! Enjoy!
